5 ways to destress mindfully

Start of day

Begin your day with 10 minutes of me-time. Allocate priorities, choose tasks and sequence of what you want to get done. Commit to give full attention to only the task at hand at a particular time.

A deep breath

Take a pause before starting a new task. Breathe in and out deeply for a minute and then start work.

Use a prop

Put an hourly alarm on your mobile or stick a post-it note on your computer. Focus either on your current task or breathing and shake off the stressful background mental conversation.

Mind the break

Take a break when the stress or work becomes too much to handle. Get up and walk around or fetch a coffee.

End of day

On your way back home, take 5 minutes off. Review tasks completed, list what goes into tomorrow and congratulate yourself for your mindful focus. Finally, take a moment of focused breathing.
